Blurring the Lines between Theory and Practice

In May 2014 The EdGe Research group invites, teachers, education and teacher training students, researchers and university lecturers to attend the International Conference on Education and Gender.


This two day conference is hosted at the Izmir University of Economics on 16th and 17th May 2014 with a focus on theory and practice on the respective days. The conference aims to address key aspects of Education and Gender from a European perspective to explore contemporary debates with children and young people, discussions relating to women’s and men’s studies, experiences from within the field and practical applications of gender related theory.


Keynotes and workshops will aim to present more specific notions of gender in relation to identity, sexuality, lifestyle intercultural practices in relation to theory, practice and research.


Participants are invited to contribute papers, presentations, workshop activities and poster presentations to share practice, disseminate research and explore and deepen understanding.
